 She also oversaw the writing and negotiating of service, licensing and com=
mercial agreements with small technology start-ups, universities and large =
defense contractors.=0D=0A=0D=0ABefore moving to Charlottseville, Valerie was an attorney at Covington & Bu=
rling in Washington, D.C., where she worked in the securities division with=
 a large real estate accounting Securities and Exchange Commission review.=0D=0A=0D=0AValerie is a member of the State Bar of California and the Sacramento Count=
y Bar Association. Valerie received her B.A. in Anthropology from Colgate U=
niversity in 1998. She received her law degree from American University in =
Washington, D.C., where she was a Dean's Fellow.
